Playing Catch Up

As spring nears, there are so many changes being made, not only in nature, but in our lives. We have our every entertaining Mini Kitty to entertain us, her and Kitty Kitty have grown very close since her arrival, and I believe she is feeling more at home than ever. She has made her point known that she would like to be an outside cat, but we are not budging.

The girls seem to be getting along much better. We have had no more fights, cross your fingers that stage has passes. They moved into their own room during the day, that they sometimes have to share with Aunt Angie. This has made our room ours again and its a wonderful feeling. Now that Spring has arrived, we clean and refilled their pool, and Yellow is in heaven. The first thing she does when outback is get in the pool, and most of the time her precious ropy goes with her. TiAL has resumed her place along the fence and never an opportunity to harass the unsuspecting neighbors.

In our lives, we have sucessfuly completed the 1st Track day with no rain, which is actual quite rare in these parts. It was 65 and sunny. It was our first road trip in a long time that we drove top down (in the S that is) all the way home from Yakima. Nick and I forgot the sunscreen and paid the price over the next several days. All the cars did well for the first time out, and times should only get faster.

Nick is in full swing at the shop, some things never change. I on the other had am in the process of switching careers. My time with Windermere is quickly coming to an end, so I am excited to see what the future shall hold. I have faith that I am following the path that was created for me.
Angie and I have taken on some craft projects that surprised us all in how well they turned out. We recovered our ottoman, and it turned out really well, we were very proud.

I will try to get better at updating, it is hard, when we have nothing going on, but with summer just around the corner, along with our 1 year wedding anneversary, we should have tons to talk about. We have planned a drive down the coast for just the two of us and his baby the S. It should be so much fun, and I am sure great photo opps.

Winter 2009

We once again headed over the mountains to celeberate Valentines Day in Kent. This trip was much shorter than any of us would have like. It was good though even to get away for a night. Cindy and I spent time shopping and I got the best shoes. I love shoes becasue they always fit, even when clothes don't. So I was really excited about this find.
After a long day shopping, we headed to the country club for dinner. It was good. When we got home, Cindy and I decided it was manicure time. I have to practice more and more now that I don't have my pretty fake nails anymore. After painting my nails, I wanted to do my toes too, but of course being the blonde I am had forgotten to take the polish off first, so I had to ask my wonderful husband to help! Thankfully a few drinks in he did not find it too embarassing.
We had a great breakfast the next morning, played a little GT Prolouge and then headed home.
We are now in the final week of Nick working 60 hours a week, and he could not be happier. We are looking forward to getting back to our quiet weekends.

Christmas and the crazy trip over to the West side.

Christmas was great this year as always. We had my parents and Nick's dad over for Christmas Eve dinner, which I must say turned out great, just like Thanksgiving. Nick and I then went to my parents Christmas morning before venturing over the pass. It turned out to be much better than expected, and we still made great time with 3.5 hours to Kent. We spent a great weekend with his Mom and Lee. It was one of the longer weekends that we have actually had a chance to stay for. Angie and my parents were nice enough to take care of the babies back home, so I did not have to worry too much. There was so much snow over there, that we spent much of our time at home which proved to be very relaxing, there was the one crazy trip to Costco and Cindy's 1st ever Costco Dog. It was so much fun, and on the way home we got lucky again and missed avalanch control by about 10 mintues. We like to cut things as close as possible. All in all it was a great end to a wonderful year.
New Years reminded us exactly how much we were growing up. After working all day, we decieded to stay home. We made it to midnight (Pacific) and went out to make noise with all the neighbors, and the girls were excited to be out front, it was funny watching them run around trying to figure out where the pops and bangs were coming from.
And so started our New year. Our 1st Christmas and New Year as husband an wife was a great one and will be remembered for some time to come. And now we wait to create more memories and meet new milestones in 2009.

The babies

I treat the animals like they are my children. We ha a billion pictures of them and most of what they do is so cute. The more comfortable they all get with eachother, the better the pictures are getting. I know that Kitty Kitty was not a fan of Mini when she arrived, but they seem to have adjusted nicely. An Yellow is no longer terrified of Mini, who is getting big from what I am told. I don't really notice until I wake up with her standing on me. She is definately bigger than when she arrived. It has been about 2 months, so I would say great progress.

Nick's Birthday Gathering

We had a small Birthday party for Nick this year. It was actually quite nice, and I guess that is what happens when you get older. He turned 27 this year and is on the down hill slide to 30. Which is crazy becuase for the most part we still see ourselves as the 20 years olds, with less street racing on weekends. I like to look back and see where our journey has brought us, we are two completely different people then we were then, but definately for the better. Nick is spoiled as always and got his PS3 as a combo present, seeing as his birthday is only 10 days before Christmas. The rest of his presents would be what I would classify as grown up presents. He got tabs for the car, and I think bullets from his dad, but I am not really sure. I know the present he is most excited about it the one that awaits him in Kent.

This is the 1st Christmas, in I honetly don't know how long, that Nick will be with his mom on Christmas day. We are leaving here Christmas afternoon, for what will most likely be an interesting drive over the pass. It should be very relaxing once we get there, the only thing I will miss will be my girls. They hate when we leave, but I know Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Angie will take great care of them.

Stitches Out

I go this afternoon to get my stitches out. I am ready for them to not get caught on my pants and be able to soak my leg again.

One week later

Everything is going better than I could have expected. It has only been a week since my surgery and you can only tell by the stitches still in my knee. I even went to the gym yesterday. I am thankful to be done with pain.
We are looking forward to hosting Thanksgiving at our house next week. Today is the one year mark for being in our home with our furry family. This has totally been the year of change.
